Yesterday I once again realized how great it is to be living next to the Black Forest (German: Schwarzwald) and what a pity it is that we go there so rarely! Have never been there in the middle of summer before and was absolutely amazed by how colorful the Black Forest can actually be.

We drove down to Enzklösterle in Black Forest yesterday to meet some friends, who were passing by the region and decided to make a 3-day stop to enjoy some of the fine German nature. Didn’t expect much from the day, but ended up being completely blown away by how beautiful it was in full bloom. We started with a short walk through tiny Enzklösterle and in a couple of minutes I couldn’t stop making photos of what was left and right. Here are the results of this photo walk:

I was charmed by this view, when we were driving by, and asked Catalin to stop for a photo. As I found out later on top of the hill is Schloss Eberstein, which also has a hotel and a restaurant. Apparently this is a very popular spot for wedding celebrations as well!

This photo was made on one of the small squares of historical Gernsbach, another stop on our way.

Have you already been to Back Forest? Is it on your travel agenda? What is your favorite day-trip destination back home?
Beautiful pictures. I live right on the edge of the thing (just at the other end from you guys) and it really is fascinating. We don’t go up into it as often as we could. There is a lot to see that really is better with a car, that we don’t have.
Anyway, good to see you exploring around.

Thanks – it’s difficult to make bad pictures in Schwarzwald though, when everything is so beautiful!
Just yesterday we (quite spontaneously) went somewhere, where you guys could even get by bus. A post about this to follow shortly
